BATAVIA — A man is dead after a go-kart crash at a town racetrack Saturday.

Daniel Trendell, 66, of Fergus, Ont., near Guelph, was racing in a vintage go-kart event at Kelly’s Motorsports Park when he failed to make a turn at the end of a straightaway and veered off the track and through a fence, witnesses said. Medics pronounced Trendell dead on the scene.
